The Snuff Tobacco Reference

Canaster Tobacco

Canaster tobacco was a processed tobacco product in the form of a twisted or braided roll that had its name from the reed basket called a canaster in which it was packed in the Spanish Americas for transportation. Canaster tobacco came in multiple grades and sorts and was used to manufacture consumable tobacco products, and specifically smoking and snuff tobaccos.
