Pieter-Lievin Van der Cruyssen and the Van der Cruyssen Tobacco Concern of Deinze

Pieter-Lievin Van der Cruyssen (b. 1838) was a Flanders tobacco manufacturer who established himself in Deinze having relocated there in 1872. Van der Cruyssen was succeeded in business by his son René Theophiel Van der Cruyssen (d. 1940), who was succeeded by his son Carlos Pieter Arthur Van der Cruyssen (1909–1940), who was succeeded by his son Pierre Van der Cruyssen, who sold off the remaining Van der Cruyssen operations in 2009. The Van der Cruyssen concern of Deinze, which in its heyday produced snuff tobaccos, cigars, and smoking tobaccos, should not be confused with the Van der Cruyssen concern of Nevele, which was separately established by Adolf Van der Cruyssen (1842–1879), the brother of Pieter-Lievin.
