Roasting of Tobacco

Roasting is a tobacco manufacturing process that involves subjecting tobacco material to dry heat, which might be done for a variety of reasons including to dry the tobacco, to retard fermentation in the tobacco, or to alter the flavor profile of the tobacco. Roasting methods are various, but might involve an oven or specialised roasting apparatus or might simply involve placing tobacco material before a fire. An example of roasted snuff is the genus called High-Dried.
