Tonka Bean

The Tonka Bean is a fragrant seed with a black and wrinkled appearance of the tree Dipteryx odorata which is native to South America. Popular in perfumery and cuisine, the Tonka Bean was in former times commonly employed in scenting snuff tobacco, wherefore it took the name of snuff bean.
